About The Trainer?

The course will be led by Theuns, an experienced professional with a diverse background in construction management. After completing his B. Ing Civil degree at Rand Afrikaans University (now the University of Johannesburg), he started his career as a Junior Site Agent at Raubex Construction. Over the years, he advanced to key roles, including Site Agent at Road Mac Surfacing (RMS), where he worked on road rehabilitation projects across Southern Africa.

After four years with Raubex, Theuns moved to Patula Construction, where he spent nine years, ultimately becoming the Contracts Director and a Shareholder. During his time at Patula, Theuns gained invaluable experience in a variety of roles including Safety Officer, Site Agent, Contracts Manager, Quantity Surveyor, and Tenderer, working on projects involving bridges, roads, dams, water and sewer systems, and more.

In 2007, Theuns founded Construction Consultant, where he worked as a Project Manager and Consultant for several organizations, including Depm Housing, Depm Public Works, Johannesburg Roads Agency, and DRD Mining, among others. His primary focus was to support and develop small and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs) in the construction industry.

Since 2009, Theuns has presented over 530 courses and trained more than 9,100 delegates across Africa. His courses cover topics such as Road Construction, Road Maintenance, Contract Administration, Tendering, and SMME Development. Theuns is also a member of SAICE (South African Institution of Civil Engineering) and one of the founding members of SAPTA (South African Pavement Technologists Association).

Terms & Conditions

Payment Terms:

  • Payment is required within five (5) working days on receipt of tax invoice.
  • Following completion and return of the registration form, full payment is required within five (5) working days from receipt of tax invoice.
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission and withhold CPD points and certificate if payment is not received on time, a payment or an official purchase order must be received prior to the conference or training seminar.

Fees:

  • Fees are exclusive of VAT
  • Bulk discounts are not calculated on early bird price. Invoiced amounts need to be paid on or before the early bird date to receive the rate.

Cancellation Policy:

  • All cancellations must be sent in writing at least 10 working days prior to the event.
  • Cancellations within 10 working days before the event starts will not receive any refund and will be liable for the full invoiced amount, however, a substitution of the delegate will be allowed.

Indemnity:

  • Should for any reason outside the control of BEST Training events, the dates or speakers change, or the event is cancelled due to an act of terrorism, extreme weather conditions or industrial action, BEST Training shall endeavour to reschedule but the client hereby indemnifies and holds BEST Training harmless from and against any and all costs, damages and expenses, including attorney’s fees, which are incurred by the client.
  • The construction, validity and performance of this agreement shall be governed in all respects by the laws of South Africa and to the exclusive jurisdiction of whose courts the parties hereby agree to submit.

No-shows:

  • Registrants who do not attend the event, without written notices as per the cancellation policy will be liable for 100% of the invoiced amount.
